Description

TBC Corporation is seeking a forward-thinking and hands-on Vice President, Enterprise Architecture to lead the modernization of our enterprise technology platforms. This executive role ensures that the EA function continuously evolves with the changing business and technology landscape, guides modernization of the technology portfolio and helps connect IT investment decisions to desired business outcomes for revenue growth, cost optimization, and risk mitigation.  This role will drive the transformation of legacy systems into a cohesive, cloud-native ecosystem that supports scalability, agility, and data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will blend strategic architectural leadership with hands-on engineering expertise to design and implement modern solutions across core business functions.  As a “player-coach,” this individual will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, foster a culture of innovation, learning, coaching and mentoring, contribute to code when needed, and ensure architectural alignment with business goals.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with technology and business stakeholders to develop an Enterprise Architecture vision and strategy that is aligned with TBC objectives.
  • Lead platform modernization initiatives, including the migration from SAP ECC to Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP and legacy applications and websites to cloud-native applications on Google Cloud.
  • Architect scalable, secure, and resilient solutions across all enterprise applications while balancing competing priorities such as cost, performance, and usability.
  • Establish an architecture framework and best practices, along with overseeing the creation of a repository for requirements, architecture design documents, artifacts, and reference materials
  • Design and guide the implementation of microservices-based architectures and event-driven systems.
  • Act as a “player-coach” by contributing to codebases (primarily in Python and Java) along with leading and mentoring engineering teams.
  • Build proof-of-concepts and reference implementations for cloud-native services and data pipelines.

Additional Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee integration strategies between critical applications such as (but not limited to) SAP, Oracle, Google Cloud, MS Fabric, Power BI, and Salesforce.
  • Ensure data consistency, governance, and real-time availability across platforms.
  • Ensure all solutions meet enterprise security, compliance, and regulatory requirements while collaborating with the security team to embed security into architecture and development processes.
  • Guide the adoption of CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, platform-as-a-service, and observability tools for modern development workflows.
  • Turn business strategy into systems design by developing an architecture framework that enables adaptability, scalability, availability, and re-use.

Continued Responsibilities

  • Mentor a technical team responsible for the creation, implementation and maintenance of architectural strategies.
  • Direct the development and documentation of the strategy linking TBC’s application, data, solution, digital and technical architectures.
  • Maintain a full understanding of all TBC’s technology implementations and integration with external service providers.
  • Champion architectural principles across teams to ensure consistency and scalability and provide leadership in addressing the gap between enterprise architecture strategy and the IT organization’s readiness to adopt.
  • Establish and chair an architecture governance board responsible for ensuring effective and efficient use of IT resources and assets, and architecture and portfolio decisions that enable the long-term business strategy.

  • Reduce integration costs and risks by promoting interoperability and reuse.
  • Enable faster decision-making with clear architecture insights and roadmaps.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 15 years of progressively responsible IT experience and leadership roles, including strategy, integration management, and application development.
  • 10 years as an enterprise architecture leader, developing architecture strategy and roadmaps, and leading a team of architects.
  • Knowledge of business ecosystems, software as a service (SaaS), infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), SOA, APIs, open data, microservices, event-driven IT and predictive analytics.
  • Familiarity with information management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, agile and lean methodologies, infrastructure and operations, and enterprise architecture and ITIL frameworks.
  • Understanding of existing, new and emerging technologies, such as generative AI and its applications.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, Java, ReactJS, Next.JS and modern software engineering practices.
  • Proven experience leading a successful technology modernization effort or change initiative.
  • Experience migrating ERP systems to the Cloud (SAP ECC to Oracle Fusion preferred), data platforms (MS Fabric, Power BI), and CRM (Salesforce).
  • Familiarity with EA tools, graphical modeling approaches, and repository management.
  • Excellent analytical, planning, and organizational skills with a practical approach to problem solving and decision making.
  • Excellent written, verbal communications and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Google Cloud and TOGAF architecture certifications are preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English is a plus.
