Description

We are seeking an exceptionally bright, motivated, and high‑integrity Senior Director of Accounting & Financial Reporting who brings deep technical expertise, a passion for accounting excellence, and an unwavering commitment to getting the numbers right. This leader will serve as a strategic steward of our financial reporting environment while driving meaningful transformation across core accounting processes.

The ideal candidate is a CPA with mastery of both US GAAP and IFRS, a detail‑oriented operator who thrives in complexity, and a proactive change agent who elevates standards, inspires teams, and strengthens the integrity of the company’s financial foundation. This role will oversee the full close process, lead internal and external audit cycles, guide local and outsourced accounting teams, and play a critical role in advancing our accounting systems, processes, and capabilities.

Job Responsibilities

Leadership & Oversight

  • Lead, inspire, and develop a high‑performing accounting organization, including both internal teams and outsourced service providers.
  • Build a culture of integrity, accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. 

Financial Close & Reporting

  • Oversee the full monthly, quarterly, and annual close process with precision and timeliness.
  • Ensure the production of accurate, compliant financial statements aligned with US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Maintain ownership of the general ledger and all core accounting operations, ensuring complete, accurate, and consistently applied accounting.

Technical Accounting & Policy Governance

  • Serve as the company’s technical accounting authority; research, interpret, and apply complex accounting standards.
  • Establish, refine, and reinforce robust accounting policies, internal controls, and governance frameworks.
  • Prepare technical accounting memos and communicate conclusions effectively to executive leadership and external auditors.

Additional Job Responsibilities

Audit Leadership

  • Lead the annual external audit process, including planning, coordination, deliverables, and issue resolution.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and parent company reporting teams.

Lease Accounting

  • Provide oversight of ASC 842/IFRS 16 compliance, ensuring accuracy of lease data, calculations, and disclosures.
  • Partner with Real Estate and Finance teams to align lease decisions with proper accounting treatment.

 

Continued Responsibilities

Cross‑Functional Partnership

  • Partner across Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, HR, Legal, Real Estate, Treasury, and FP&A to ensure business decisions are supported by sound accounting analysis.
  • Anticipate business needs and proactively design scalable processes that enhance organizational efficiency.

Process Transformation & Systems Enhancement

  • Champion process optimization initiatives that elevate accuracy, speed, and scalability across the accounting landscape.
  • Play a key leadership role in ongoing and future ERP, technology, or reporting system implementations.

Added Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Stewardship

  • Provide insights and analysis to support decision‑making, mitigate risk, and strengthen financial discipline across the organization.
  • Lead complex, cross‑functional strategic initiatives that require technical accounting judgment, operational coordination, and superior execution.

Enterprise Systems Transformation

  • Serve as a key leadership voice and decision‑maker in the design, configuration, and implementation of the company’s new ERP system.
  • Ensure accounting requirements, controls, reporting needs, and data integrity standards are fully embedded in system architecture.
  • Partner closely with IT, Finance, Operations, and cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure the system enhances accuracy, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead accounting workstreams—including testing, validation, adoption, and change leadership—to ensure a successful system launch and long‑term optimization.
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA or Master’s in Accounting strongly preferred. 
  • Active CPA required.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles.
  • Expertise in US GAAP, IFRS, internal controls, and financial reporting.
  • Deep working knowledge of ASC 842 and IFRS 16 lease accounting.
  • Demonstrated success leading close processes, audits, and accounting teams.
  • Experience managing outsourced accounting providers preferred.
  • Strong technical accounting acumen with the ability to interpret, communicate, and apply complex standards.
  • Proven change‑leader with a track record of driving process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Bilingual in Spanish / English is a plus
