Description

The role is a critical strategic role responsible for elevating financial rigor, strengthening enterprise planning, and enabling executive leadership to make faster, more informed decisions. This role will lead the end to end planning ecosystem — annual budgets, rolling forecasts, long range strategic models — while driving enhanced financial visibility, scenario analysis, and forward looking insights.

The role will serve as a thought partner to senior leaders, proactively shaping financial strategy, identifying risks early, challenging assumptions and influencing resource allocation and investment decisions. The position plays a critical role in translating complex business opportunities into clear financial implications, influencing decisions to improve outcomes and enabling leadership to act with confidence.

The role will also be responsible for advancing FP&A maturity by championing process modernization, automation, and data governance to significantly reduce manual effort and improve the accuracy and speed of financial insights.

Job Responsibilities

Strategic Business Partnership & Executive Support

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders (VP, SVP, GM level), influencing decisions with data driven insights and strong business acumen.
  • Proactively identify financial risks, opportunities, and trade offs, framing recommendations in the context of enterprise strategy, growth objectives, and capital allocation priorities.
  • Partner with leadership to translate complex operational initiatives, commercial strategies, and transformation efforts into clear financial implications, ensuring leadership understands impacts on earnings and return on investment, balancing short term performance with long term value creation.
  • Provide senior leadership with timely, high impact insights that connect financial outcomes to business strategy, growth objectives and profitability targets
  • Challenge assumptions and surface alternative scenarios to enable better decision making in uncertain or rapidly changing environments while balancing operational needs with financial discipline.

Planning and Forecasting

  • Lead and oversee the development of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long range financial plans ensuring alignment to organizational strategy and accountability across the organization
  • Own and continuously refine enterprise wide forecasting models for revenue, cost, headcount, and key business drivers, ensuring transparency, scalability, and consistency.
  • Drive improved forecast accuracy through deep variance analysis, enhanced assumptions, and tighter integration with operational metrics.
  • Establish planning standards, calendars, and best practices that promote consistency, discipline, and executive confidence in financial outputs.

Advanced Financial Analysis, Insights & Decision Support

  • Lead the analysis of financial and operational performance relative to budget, forecast, and prior periods; identify trends, emerging risk areas, and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and deliver executive-level reporting, dashboards, and executive level presentations
  • Synthesize complex data into clear and actionable executive narratives
  • Lead scenario modeling, sensitivity testing, and ROI analysis to guide strategic decisions, investments, and cost actions.
  • Ensure insights are forward looking and decision oriented, moving beyond “what happened” to “what it means” and “what to do next.”
  • Anticipate questions from senior leadership and proactively prepare insights that inform upcoming decisions.

Continued Responsibilities

Process Improvement

  • Drive continuous improvement of FP&A processes, tools, and reporting to increase automation, reduce manual effort, and Improve speed and accuracy of insights.
  • Lead advancements in financial models, planning technologies, analytics capabilities and cross functional data integration.
  • Strengthen data integrity across systems by ensuring 
  • Support audit, governance, and leadership review processes with high quality analysis and reliable financial data.
  • alignment between FP&A, Accounting, and operational data sources.

Leadership & Organizational Impact

  • Act as a leader within FP&A, setting high standards for analytical rigor, accountability, and business partnership.
  • Mentor and develop FP&A team members (indirectly), elevating technical capability, business acumen, and executive communication skills.
  • Represent FP&A in cross functional forums and strategic initiatives, reinforcing finance’s role as a value adding partner to the business.
  • Serve as a role model for collaboration, ownership, and strategic thinking across the finance organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • MBA, CPA, CFA, or comparable advanced credential preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience with strong expertise in FP&A, corporate finance, or business finance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex planning processes and develop high impact models (forecasting, scenario planning, sensitivity analysis, ROI).
  • Proven track record of improving FP&A efficiency through automation, system enhancements, or standardized processes.
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to translate large, complex datasets into concise, actionable insights.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with BI tools and financial planning systems preferred.
  • Exceptional communication, executive storytelling, and presentation capabilities.
  • Proven experience partnering with senior executives to influence decisions and shape financial strategy.
  • Experience working across multiple functions (Accounting, Operations, Sales, HR, IT) in dynamic or highly complex operating environments.
  • Exposure to strategic initiatives such as restructurings, pricing shifts, business transformations, or M&A activities.
  • Ability to operate with agility in a fast paced, results driven environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Bilingual in Spanish /English is a plus
