Description

The Senior Accounting Analyst will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our financial records, reports and statements in accordance with company policies, US GAAP and IFRS.  The Senior Accounting Analyst will gain an understanding of the policies and procedures that impact the accounting results with the intention of migrating and helping implement an automated environment for journal entries, account reconciliations and reviews.  Seeking to find practical, innovative and efficient solutions to complex accounting challenges.

This role will be a Hybrid work environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage, review and reconcile accounts and accounting processes on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Participate in month end close process through journal entries and task management
  • Analyze financial data and identify trends, issues, and opportunities for efficiency and improvement
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reporting packages
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities to automate and/or gain efficiencies over the current accounting processes
  • Manage documentation on the Company’s accounting policies and procedures and financial controls
  • Evaluate and recommend enhancements to accounting procedures and reconciliation process
  • Prepare, support and post complex journal entries in the Company’s general ledger
  • Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation
  • Maintain support and report on financial statement line items within audited financial statements
  • Analyze and provide explanations for variances in business segment financial analysis as it relates to periodic actual results versus budgets, forecasts, and strategic planning initiatives
  • Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and inquiries
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or similar business degree required.
  • 7+ years of experience in general ledger accounting.  FP&A experience a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to decipher and work effectively with large volume of data
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP to utilize and apply common accounting and financial concepts
  • Large ERP systems experience, such as SAP preferred.  Experience with Blackline desirable.
  • Problem solving, critical thinking and attention to detail
  • Ability to work on and maintain multiple project assignments at a time and switch tasks as necessary
  • Strong reconciliation and organizational skills required
  • Strong commitment to leadership and integrity
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
