The Scrum Master uses the Agile framework to optimize business functions that has been proven.  TBC is seeking to optimize its marketing and IT teams by hiring Scrum Managers.  The successful candidates will have a passion for teamwork and collaboration in business as well as the experience with teamwork to create an Agile workforce.  The candidates should be knowledgeable about both engaging team members and leveraging technology to further benefit business processes.  The Scrum Master is responsible for monitoring the scrum processes and scrum meetings. They will increase their team efficiency, motivates the team, spins, argues for changes that will ensure quality and timeliness. He/She ensures the understood definition and procedure to achieve ‘done’ is being followed.

Job Responsibilities
  • Guiding the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers.
  • Guide teams to a culture of focus, improving the organization of their work through sprint planning and reviews throughout a project life cycle.
  • Guides departments and teams towards cross-function orientation by serving as an Agile consultant, helping plan and coordinate new workflows and patterns and scheduling of task assignments and goals.
  • Ability to teach the concepts of task definition, velocity and burndown metrics to all staff members.
  • Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization.
  • Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment.
  • Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving.
  • Form partnerships across departments to streamline work processes and improve the speed at which the company can respond to and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information.
  • Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially on grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
  • Providing all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example.
  • Lead daily standup meetings and sprint planning.
  • Certification in Scrum Master is required for this role.

  • At least 5 years of experience in an Agile work environment

  • Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership model, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.

  • Knowledge of various well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burndown technologies, various Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.).
