The Midas Merchandising Analyst (MA) studies competitor products and services and makes recommendations to ensure optimal competitive standing in the independent tire dealer marketplace. They must employ strong research, analytical, & presentation skills and have a strong understanding of industry marketing trends, and current conditions. The Analyst must work very closely with Field Management and individual owners/dealers/store managers to optimize wholesale/retail pricing, and stock plans.  The Analyst must build rapport & gain the trust of all Dealers in the assigned Mkt and assist them with related Mkt needs & demands.  The Analyst must split time between Franchisees & company owned locations to meet the Mkt demands of both equally.  The Analyst will need a strong working knowledge of industry terms, data sources, and trade industry organizations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Analyze assigned markets to help assess the correct positioning for Midas Products for both retail and wholesale.

  • Gather competitor data while analyzing their retail / wholesale prices, sales & operation strategies

  • Travel to & Participate in Owner Meetings and other related meetings as assigned.

  • (Estimated amount of travel: 15%)

  • Analyze product that is not selling and suggest methods and means to turn the product

  • Work w/ Dealers/Owners to optimize stock plans and set goals/objectives

  • Ability to meet demanding deadlines on competitive shops & various reports

  • Support company’s safety initiatives & harassment-free work environment policy

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred (business, marketing, finance, or related field)

  • 2-5 years Automotive/Tire Industry related to retail and/or wholesale.

  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, Power Point, SQL

  • Excellent research, diagnostic and analytical skills

  • Goal oriented with the ability to meet productivity objectives and deadlines.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Working knowledge of tires, wheels and related items.

  • Ability to balance multiple priorities

  • Demonstrates ability to work with minimal supervision
