Description

The Managing Director of IT Operations will serve as a key leader within the Office of the CTO (OCTO), reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO). This role is designed to ensure that the IT organization operates with maximum efficiency and effectiveness, aligning closely with the strategic goals of TBC Corporation. As a critical enabler of IT governance, this role facilitates the seamless integration of IT operations with business objectives, enabling the CTO to focus on high-impact initiatives and executive leadership.

The Managing Director will oversee several critical functions within the IT organization, including Change Management and Governance, Performance & Financial Management, Workforce Strategy, Communications & Knowledge Management, Project & Portfolio Management, and Process Augmentation and Automation. This role is instrumental in ensuring that IT operations are streamlined, transparent, and agile, supporting both immediate business needs and long-term strategic goals.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of robust IT governance processes that ensure repeatability, accountability, and consistency across the organization. Drive change management initiatives that align IT capabilities with evolving business needs.
  • Oversee IT financial planning, budgeting, and performance management processes. Ensure that the IT organization operates within budget while delivering maximum value to the business. Develop metrics and KPIs to track and optimize IT performance.
  • Partner with HR to develop and implement workforce strategies that align with TBC’s IT objectives. This includes talent acquisition, development, and retention, with a focus on building a high-performing IT team capable of driving innovation and operational excellence.

Additional Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive communication strategy that ensures transparency and consistent messaging across the IT organization. Oversee knowledge management initiatives that promote information sharing and continuous learning within the IT team.
  • Lead the strategic oversight of IT projects and portfolios, ensuring that initiatives are aligned with business objectives and are delivered on time and within budget. Provide guidance and support to project managers and ensure adherence to best practices in project management.
  • Drive the identification, design, and implementation of process improvement and automation initiatives. Leverage digital technologies to enhance operational efficiency and support the organization's transformation goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale IT operations and driving organizational change.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in IT budgeting and performance management.
  • Demonstrated experience in workforce strategy, including talent acquisition and development.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Expertise in project and portfolio management, with a deep understanding of IT governance and change management processes.
  • Experience in process improvement and automation, with a focus on leveraging digital technologies.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and stakeholders.
