Description

We are seeking a Manager of Accounting and Financial Reporting to lead the preparation and consolidation of financial statements, ensure compliance with IFRS and US GAAP, and manage complex accounting areas such as lease accounting, foreign currency transactions, and hedging. This role is critical in delivering timely, accurate, and insightful financial reporting to support strategic decision-making.  The ideal candidate is a strong leader with deep technical accounting expertise, a passion for process improvement, and a proactive mindset for driving value across the organization.

Job Responsibilities

Financial Close & Reporting

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP & IFRS.
  • Serve as primary liaison between TBC Accounting and parent company stakeholders, ensuring timely delivery of monthly reporting packages and proactively addressing inquires and follow up requests.
  • Own the general ledger and recording of all business transactions, leading the team in detailed analysis and reconciliation of accounts, while ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal policies.
  • Own technical accounting research and preparation of accounting positon papers, including presenting conclusions to executive leadership and coordinating reviews with external auditors.

Audit & Compliance

  • Own the relationship with external auditors and manage all audit deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and support readiness and testing.
  • Maintain and enhance accounting policies and procedures.

Additional Job Responsibilities

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales, Supply Chain, Real Estate, HR, Legal, Tax, Risk, and other departments to understand corporate initiatives.
  • Proactively design and implement back-office processes that support operational efficiency and scalability.

Outsourced Provider Oversight

  • Manage the relationship with the outsourced accounting provider, ensuring service quality and alignment with internal standards.

Lease Accounting (ASC 842)

  • Oversee the lease accounting team and ensure compliance with ASC 842.
  • Maintain accurate lease records and reporting in coordination with Real Estate and Finance teams.

 

Continued Responsibilities

Foreign Exchange & Hedging

  • Manage foreign currency exposure and oversee the execution of hedging strategies.
  • Collaborate with Treasury and Finance teams to monitor FX risk and ensure proper accounting treatment of hedging activities.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and related disclosures.

Value Creation & Process Optimization

  • Provide actionable financial insights to support strategic decision-making and drive business performance.
  • Enhance operational effectiveness, accuracy and scalability of processes for the accounting department by identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Optimize existing tools and systems and lead the implementation of new capabilities where needed.

Added Responsibilities

ERP Implementation Support

  • Play a key role in the successful implementation of a new ERP system.
  • Ensure accounting requirements are met and integrated into system design.
  • Collaborate with IT and cross-functional teams to support testing, training, and change management.

Strategic Projects

  • Engage in ad hoc projects as needed to support the organization’s growth, transformation, and strategic objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, internal controls, and financial reporting.
  • Experience managing external audits and working with outsourced providers.
  • Familiarity with ASC 842 and IFRS 16 lease accounting standards.
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements and implementing new tools or systems.
  • Experience with foreign exchange transactions including managing multiple functional currencies and hedging.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) is a plus.
  • Bilingual language skills in Spanish / English are a plus
