Description

The Collections Manager for TBC Corporate Services will be responsible for developing collection strategies, managing staff, and maintaining policy compliance for the company.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and standardize written policy documentation related to collections.
  • Set payment collection goals and targets for the department.
  • Create and implement a strategy to improve the collection of outstanding customer balances.
  • Recruit, hire, train and evaluate staff members within the collections department to ensure enough staff members are available to handle the workload.
  • Develop and prepare reports for management, metrics, staff portfolios while delivering concise and complete reporting.
  • Work with management to create strategies and objectives to support the functional infrastructure.
  • Initiate process improvement and quality reviews to simplify and improve productivity by collaborating with Sales and IT.
  • Ensure department processes are aligned between the US and Mexico

Additional Job Responsibilities

  • Negotiate documentation and payment terms with customers to ensure transactions are properly secured.
  • Resolve collection issues with customers with difficult or highly sensitive problems.
  • Maintaining month-end reporting requirements.
  • Upholding policy compliance/JSOX.
  • Manage a staff of up to 4 full-time associates and outsourced partner in the collections department.
  • Mentor and develop staff for career development.
  • Support TBC Code of Business Conduct
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ management experience in Collections
  • Strong computer skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • SAP experience is preferred
  • Vast understanding of credit reporting agencies (D&B / Equifax)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage relationships both internally and externally
  • Strong problem solving and customer service skills
  • Fast paced environment
  • Bilingual Spanish/English is required
