Under general supervision, the Leave Administrator will administer and maintain all Associate leaves and ensure compliance with all state/federal leave laws in coordination with related institution benefits and leave policies. The position is responsible for tracking leaves, advising Associates and their managers on leave options, rights and responsibilities, benefits and compensation, and required communication while on leave. The position monitors time and serves as a resource for questions regarding time off policies.  This position works closely with HR field management and the Payroll Department and reports to the Sr. Benefits Manager.

Job Responsibilities
  • Administers the company’s disability and leaves of absence policies and ensures vendor service quality
  • Creates and maintains solid operational processes and practices to ensure compliance and consistency in the execution and administration of leaves of absence company-wide.
  • Monitors and tracks critical dates in the leave cycle and communicates with Associates and managements as appropriate.
  • Routinely audits time and attendance records and proactively alerts managers or other stakeholders about potential issues.
  • Manage and generate various benefit leave reports, including but not limited to:
  1. Vendor claim reporting
  2. Intermittent trend reports
  • As a member of the Benefits Department this role will routinely assist team members where needed in: 
  1. Backs up team members responsible for investigating and responding to Qualified Medical Support Orders
  2. Assist in Company’s annual benefit enrollment period
  3. Tuition Reimbursement Program Administration
  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent of education, professional training or work experience required.
  • a minimum of 3-4 years of leave administration experience, experience with Associate benefits preferred.
  • Ability to consistently provide a positive customer service experience via telephone or in person for Associates or Managers with benefit questions or benefits processes.
  • Extensive knowledge of state and federal leave requirements, including FMLA, NYPFL, CFRA, ADA and other applicable law.
  • Ability to problem solve with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • HRIS experience required.  SAP Experience is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to details
  • Strong MS Office Suite Skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Continuous sitting, typing
