Description
The Human Resources Compliance Manager partners with HR leaders and the Legal department to ensure compliance with employment, benefits and compensation legal requirements and best practices. This position ensures that the company adheres to legal standards and in-house policies. The Human Resources Compliance Manager provides guidance on all compliance matters and is responsible for thoroughly understanding compliance laws and providing adequate communication to Associates about such laws accordingly.
Job Responsibilities
- Counsel human resources management on all aspects of daily employment-related issues
- Assist in the implementation of employment-related policies and procedures
- Stay current on employment-related best practices, and state and federal regulatory and legislative developments
- Work with the Legal department to provide accurate and timely responses to employment-related charges, notices, and complaints raised by various administrative agencies, including EEOC, DOL, and state or local equivalents
- Draft and revise employee handbooks, policies, and forms
- Provide advice and counsel to management regarding compliance with existing state and federal laws and new/pending legislation relating to Compensation, HR, Payroll and Benefits
- Examine field pay plans to ensure properly drafted and that back-office structure is present to comply with legal requirements, including overtime and minimum wage compliance
- Provide counsel on a broad range of compensation and benefits matters relating to ERISA, 401k plans, executive compensation, nonqualified deferred compensation, plan design, health and welfare plans, mergers and acquisitions and fiduciary responsibility
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in related discipline
- A minimum of 3-5 experience with HR and Payroll compliance or related field
- Serves as a consultant on major matters pertaining to policies and procedures
- Demonstrated commitment to compliance, integrity, and quality
- Effectively communicate both in writing and verbally
- Handle sensitive and confidential matters and situations
- Highly Organized, Attention to Detail, Results-Oriented
- Ability to work well within a team environment as well as independently as the situation demands.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
