Construction Manager

Description

This position reports to the Director of Construction and is a key role within the TBC Construction Department that manages the full spectrum of projects for TBC Corporation including both Franchise and Corporate Auto Service Facilities, Warehouses, Fleet Centers, and Corporate Office Development.  This Construction Manager position is also responsible for managing the permitting, entitlement and construction activity of franchisees’ new store growth and serving as TBC’s relationship manager for franchisees’ construction-related activity. This position is primarily responsible for managing project schedules and reporting of construction status to all internal TBC departments, as well as managing the activity of vendors, suppliers and subcontractors involved in new store activity.  The position will also ensure that the quality of construction is kept to TBC Corporation Brand standards and projects are completed in a satisfactory time period.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage the permitting, entitlement and construction activity of franchisees’ new store growth
• Serve as primary liaison and manage relationships of the network of existing and new franchisees’ construction-related activity, including new stores, relocations and remodels
• Manage the activities of TBC Corporation’s vendors, suppliers and subcontractors responsible for tasks associated with new store construction
• Synchronize responsibilities and leverage cross-functional alignment of internal departments associated with new store construction, relocations and remodels.
• Manage project plans to ensure accuracy, quality, value, brand compliance and adherence to established construction timelines.
• Coordinate activities of TBC support personnel to ensure adherence to all applicable TBC policies and governance regarding vendor contracts and invoice processing
• Oversee the new store project schedule and tasks associated with all assigned projects
• Maintain and distribute reports associated with new store records and project flow reports
• Monitor the project schedule and implement recovery strategies to mitigate delays
• Other duties and/or requests as assigned by Executive Management

Qualifications

• Four year undergraduate degree and 8 year comparable experience Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment juggling multiple projects and priorities
• Ability to manage and coordinate tasks associated with construction projects from start to finish
• Ability to coordinate the concurrent efforts of multiple participants in new store growth activity including franchisees, architects, contractors, vendors and suppliers
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with SmartSheet applications
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where little standardization exits
• Ability to travel
• Possess a valid in-state motor vehicle license
• Possess a valid Passport
