Description

TBC Digital software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Our engineers bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design, and mobile.

 

As a Software Engineer, you will be a key technical contributor that works cross-functionally with software developers, program managers, IT engineers and product managers to design and develop tools and infrastructure to improve product excellence of TBC Digital Products & Platform. TBC Digital & Innovation team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful web & mobile experience on our platform. The team works on shaping the future of TBC digital platform with various services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in automotive industry.

 

This role will be a Hybrid work environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable infrastructure for software build, test, and release spanning across backend and mobile projects.
  • Contribute towards engineering efforts from design to implementation, solving complex technical challenges around engineering productivity and velocity.
  • Drive adoption of best practices in code health, testing, and maintainability.
  • Analyze and decompose complex software systems and collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence design for testability.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of programming experience  (Javascript, HTML, Microservices, React, Node.js, REST APIs)
  • 3 years of practical experience and/or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent alternative education, skills 
  • Experience building complex distributed systems.
  • Solid understanding of cloud development principles and patterns.
  • Excellent communications skills and ability to work collaboratively across several teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to quickly adapt to new technology and go deep.
  • Great curiosity and willingness to question.
